Just off the bike on the TT and noticed when on the 4th cog on the back it is trying to jump down. no other gears are effected. The bikes a Specialized Allez.

How would I resolve this. Any help appreciated. Always struggled with gears.

Thanks

New housing/cable should solve that.

Try half a turn of the barrel adjuster, close to or on the right hand gear selector - if it makes it worse turn it the other way.

If the bike is fitted with electric gears (Di2 etc) ignore this advice.

Try a blast of Wd40, followed by a drop of oil down each of the outer cables. Work the gears up and down for a bit. See if it improves.

It might need adjustment at the derailleur, but IME if a single gear is playing up it sounds like a sticky cable in one place or another.
