You know the £30-£40 cheapo ones? I need an 11 speed for my 10 year old's build and not sure I can justify spending £70 on one with the riding he's likely to do.

Are they made of cheese?

Just get a 105 cassette for £40, does he REALLY need Ultegra?!

I have used Sunrace before they crept up in price, with no issues, the ones off eBay and aliexpress are fine also but the shifting is not quite as crisp but thats fine for kids/winter hacks etc.

This is MTB, even the lowest entry level Deore is £65 or so.

I can live with that - as you say, fine for kid riding! Thanks, will give one a go

No, but Ill be trying a cheapo one next most likely brand X if I can find one that fits my free hub. My ebikes ripped up an X01 52t in 6 months so see no reason to buy expensive again. Ill get a bit longer out of it yet but its not in good condition any more. My GX one lasted 6 months.

Few guys I ride with have used the Chinesium ones from ali express, some say they are total garbage and others rate them as being absolutely fine. How much that's down to their lack of mechanical know how for setting up a derailleur I don't know. They got them due to lack of availability on Sram/Shimano offerings.
