Ive currently got a Tiagra groupset, but the front shifter is beginning to fail.

I would like to replace and upgrade at the same time to 105.

If I change shifters what else will I need?

Derailleurs? Rear cassette?

Anything else?

If you are upgrading then the best way is to find a set taken off when someone has upgraded to Ultegra or swapped to SRAM. Group sets are are usually cheaper than buying individual items.
I assume your Tiagra is 10 speed. 105 is all 11 speed now
So apart from front mech every thing is incompatible with the rest of your group set.
Will your wheel take a 11 speed cassette?
Nearly forgot new chain as 11 speed is thinner

Somethings to check before you set off down this route.

If your Tiagra is 10spd (4700) it will not match with anything else, so your only option is to replace the lot.

If you want to go from Tiagra to 11 speed (be that Ultegra, 105, whatever) then you really have to take the hit and change the lot - you can piece it together and mix and match but theres not much carry over from 10 to 11.

Except maybe your brake calipers.

Groupset is the way forward. Still some deals out there if you look hard.

If you're on FB, join the group "Road Cycling UK Marketplace."

I recently picked up a full Ultegra 11spd groupset for about £300, upgrading my old mismatched (mostly) 105 10speed. I've managed to find a few bargains in that group particularly. Or there are one or two on eBay for not silly money. Occasionally a full 105 groupset will come up as well as people upgrade.
