Hi all,

I'm looking to get a set of Carbon wheels from either of the above companies. I've got no prior experience with dealing with either company so I just thought I would ask on here if anyone has and what the experience was like.

I am mainly going with either of the above as the price point sits right for me. I have the standard wheels for my bike so these will be used for events hence tossing up between the 40mm and 50mm.

Appreciate any advice.

I built my own wheels for my winter bike using Light Bicycle rims on Hope hubs and CX-Ray spokes for less than £600 and the components are all arguably better quality than those used by Hunt. Its a bit of a wait for the rims from China, but they do stock wheels in their EU warehouse:

i think the hunts are similar to the Winspace wheels, Parcous look like generic branded.

The hunt hubs are pile of ste, parours look pretty similar unbranded.

i vouch for lightbike rims, top notch. If you want a UK builder i'm pretty sure Stayer, Nobel, SBC etc can help you.

Ye right, interesting to hear about the opinions on the hubs. Might have to dig a little deeper then before I take the plunge

Pile of ste? Really. Based on what?

I've got two sets and one rear. Never once had a problem with any of them riding through several winters and Golfie and BPW trips... And I'm 115kg.

I've also found their customer service excellent too.

The reviews are also generally very good.

Hambini has several wheel tear-down reviews on his youtube, including Chinese brands. I forget what his current love is, but seems impressed with Elite a couple of weeks ago.

They used to be, but they're not now. If you take a closer look, they've done a lot of work on aero (front vs. rear rim profile) and have their own moulds. I have 2 sets of Parcours wheels: Chrono/Disc on my TT bike and Alta on my cross bike. Very happy with both and about to pull the trigger on a third set for my wife.

He gave the Winspace 50mm wheels a good review, as do many others. Not sure how true this is but I’ve been told Winspace make the Hunt wheels?

I got a pair of 50mm Winspace wheels last year from the Uk importers, Jedi Cycle Sport. They even fitted a pair of Maxxis tyres in with the price too. Well worth a look at these I think.
