Any recommendations for groin lube - the non sexual type !
It’s that time of year where I can be prone to jock itch after a session on the mountain bike cross country etc.
No jock itch so so far so good. Unfortunately as I get older and my balls get saggier ! I’m getting some chafing going on. I’m using tried and tested sudocrem for relief after a good groin clean which works well.
What I’m looking for is a good barrier, not Vaseline, didn’t work ! That I can apply before and during rides so my groin isn’t a chafed unattractive looking volcano like lava flow when I’m done.
Thankyou

I've always used Sudocrem, but British cycling did some work and recommend Doublebase gel (among other measures):

If you’re looking for a specific recommendation, work done by both Burt and Sterling at British Cycling found Doublebase gel – a medical-grade emollient – worked far better than classic cycling chamois cream.
These medical creams have been developed for hospital patients with bedsores (which present similar challenges to cycling: pressure, sweat, bacteria, open skin) and reduce friction while also helping the skin’s barrier function. It’s also completely pH neutral and void of perfumes.

Happy Bottom Bum Butter has done the job for me...
Jesus... Imagine going into a bike shop and asking out loud for that. That's what amazon is for!
I've used two so far.
Muc-Off Athlete Performance Luxury Chamois Cream (on my 2nd pot now)
Udderly Smooth 227g Chamois Anti Chaffing Cream
The muc-off is far better as it is thicker and lasts longer. recently found that on 8 hr rides i need to reapply after 4 hrs to maintain that smooth feel

I really like this one, not as runny as some and I find it lasts over the course of a longer ride.

Body Glide:

Been using it for many years for running, fantastic product. Non-greasy, non-runny, non-marking. I've only ever used the 'original' version (the blue one) - they have a cycling-specific product seemingly aimed at preventing saddle-sores, but the regular product (ie the blue one) does wonders for avoiding chaffing.
