I'm staying near to Epping Forest this Friday night but will be there at around 2-3pm.

I was going to take my MTB and do a couple of hours riding.

Are there marked routes of about 15-20 miles around Epping?

I'm at a vets hockey tournament sat and sun so don't want anything too taxing, just a steady ride and maybe a beer/coffee and cake on the way round.

Cheers

ETA, found this map, are the dashed yellow lines cycle paths/mixed use?

Itay have changed since I moved away, but basically it used to be lots of tracks but no signage.

I used to live there, it's ideal for mountain biking, there are loads of tracks all over the place, but none of them are signposted. Make sure you have a cup of tea at the tea hut at "Big View" that looks down towards Chingford, there's also the Epping Forest Centre to visit if you have time. Enjoy!

No signage. Park up at High Beech and go from there. Tons of great single track - just get off the bridlepaths smile
Love the place and spent thousands of hours there over the years

To be honest you can't really get lost.... if you ask at the tea hut for them to point you in the direction of butlers retreat (chingford) and just had it that way.
If you do become a little unsure had for the road and look at your garmin
