Di2 battery failure?
Discussion
Morning,
Some odd things happened on a ride yesterday. First manifested itself with my Garmin 520 constantly asking me to set up my di2 buttons. This has been done for the 3 years I’ve had the bike. At first it flashed up every few minutes but after a while it was constant. At the same time, it was scrolling through the shift modes. Worst of all, the gears wouldn’t work! It calmed down briefly and I disconnected the Garmin from the di2 system. Still no joy apart from the occasional shift. Very odd. Garmin had been showing 60% charge and I had charged it up maybe 5-600 miles ago.
Bar end box suggested zero power so it put it down to either an iffy Garmin power read out or maybe a dodgy connection due to the fact it occasionally shifted.
Got it home last night and put it on charge. All seemed fine but when I switched Garmin on it went dead.
Fast forward to this morning and it won’t take a charge at all (charge light not even showing in the charger). I’ve had the battery out and checked connections and all seems fine.
So to my question, could the battery have failed that quickly? They are pricey so worried about replacing when unnecessary. Bike is 6 years old and done maybe 15-16000 miles
Thanks

Yes, a battery could fail that quickly.
Do you have a friend with a Di2 bike who would let you borrow his battery, all being the same, to test out your theory that it is the battery that has failed?
If not a trip to your LBS is in order.
Or the other option is buy a battery, hope it is that, if not sell it on at a small loss.
