sora r3030 triple front derailleur adjustment

hello,

I've just converted my r3000 shimano sora twin into a triple by replacing front Crank into r3030 and front left lever into a sora triple.
but I can't get the gears on the front to adjust at all.
does anyone have a photo of the sora r3030 front cable routing please? the sora was bought in 2021 from Evans.

rear derailleur works perfect.

Did you get a new derailleur as well? The triple looks pretty different.

Hangabout. Possibly a daft question but have you replaced the existing FD for a triple FD too?

They’re quite different. You can run a triple FD on a double crank but not the other way round.

thanks for quick reply - yes I have replaced Crank (2 rings now replaced to 3), front derailleur to 3030 model, and gear/brake left hand lever.

Does the left lever actually say anything to show it's a 3 speed?

I put together a front triple and couldn't get it to work. Turned out that even though the lever appeared to have three positions, it wasn't the correct one, as the 3rd click was actually a 'trimming' position.

As above check the part code on the shifter to make sure it is a triple.

Tbe double has 3 clicks but middle click is trim postion.

Edit: also if you have a short cage rear mech you will need to replace with a longer cage as a short cage will not work with a triple.
