I have an early 00's Scott 26" MTB that's in half decent condition that I'm trying to work out what to do with. So far I've put some (cheap) low tread tyres on it and put it back in the shed... It feels tiny and precarious compared to my Whyte 901 and talk of MTB mullets has got me wondering if an unsprung fork and 27.5" front would help.

And maybe some bullhorn handlebars?? biggrin

Bill,

I think the problem is that nobody has any idea what a mullet bike is, I don't and I like cycling and very much into making frankenbike monstrosities.

If it were me I'd stick some bloony 26x 2.00 or 2.5's on it along with a 1kw 52volt mid drive motor kit and have a blast.

I assumed if I knew then everyone would, but it is apparently a MTB thing.

Hi Bill,

The most popular conversion seems to be drop bars to make a ‘gravel’ bike.

Plenty of ideas here:

It’s pretty easy to do; I’ve converted two 28” hybrids to drop bars and they ride well.

Best of luck.
