I'm off on a multi-day trip next week and will be staying in hotels and B&Bs along the way.

Most mention they have bike storage but I'm not sure how secure it actually is and I'd worry about leaving my bike there.

Has anyone managed to negotiate taking a (clean) bike into a hotel room?

Premier Inn are fine, they actually have a policy on this. https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/why/bike-friendly...

Use a bike cover so you can store it inside or outside your room.

Premier Inn are excellent in my experience. They've changed me from a 1st floor room to ground floor to save me carrying bike upstairs, provided me with a newspaper to put on the floor when the bike was dirty and I couldn't locate a jet wash locally. Always very helpful with the added benefit that there is always food and drink onsite.

I’ve stored my bike overnight in Marriott hotels before, no issue, just let them know when you’re checking in.

I've stayed in a few hotels with various bikes and never had an issue. I always wondered if a newspaper on the floor would be sufficient and it appears it is, even if I had to pop out to get one it's worth the effort.
I'm sure plenty hotel residents come in with more crap on their shoes than we'd come in with on our bike tyres.

If you use the City Centre (Angel Street) one you can easily ride to Wharncliffe from the hotel.

Never had a problem in the chains, only had problems with the smaller bespoke hotels. Mostly just mess and marking walls etc.

I've taken my bike into hotel rooms many times, and never been challenged (I think generally the staff cant be bothered to cause a fuss).

I just make sure it isnt covered in mud, and then I make an obvious attempt to carry it rather than wheeling it through.

I've stored my MTB in Travellodge and Premier Inn rooms multiple times without issue.
