I need a new set of road shoes to replace my aging r105 carbons. They're causing me a little cramping now.
Ideally look cleats, carbon sole and circa £100.

What are people running at present and anyone seen any good bargains in the sales?

Not quite on budget, but currently using;

Fizik R1 INFINITO. No complaints. Comfy, stiff with decent ventilation and light.

Winter shoes, which I can’t recommend enough. Feet stay dry, no terrible useless overshoes and feet stay lovely and warm even still on summer socks. They look bulky but on the move you don’t notice much difference.

Fizik R5 ARTICA.

Had no particular reason to look for other shoes/brands.

Don’t think you’ll get a carbon sole and cleats for £100 but i’ve been a fan of Lake shoes for the best part of 10 years now, these are just outside your budget but there might be deals out there

(I do have a pair of Fizik Artica for winter though which i do agree are great, much better than messing about with over shoes and never have cold feet either)

I have a pair of these too, I can't fault them. They come in wide fit too if you need it.

I have Mavic cosmic which are super lightweight and stiff, then specialized torch (non carbon 1, think 2/3 are carbon) which are really comfortable. regularly on sale around a hundred but bounce around.

Then also have dhb Tri carbon which were a steal at £55, with road around the same price. In-between the others for comfort/stiffness.

Used Sidi ones before which are awful for the prices charged.

I plumped for these late last year - very comfortable - say's it's a nylon carbon reinforced sole. So not true carbon i don't think.

I like them though.

Thanks, they look my favourite so far. Anyone have experience of returns with sigma in case they don't fit well? I'm not normally a fan of buying shoes on line for this reason smile

ETA - just found them on evans at £70 so have taken a punt smile

I bought those exactly shoes from Sigma, along with these:

https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Giro/Cadet-Road-C...

I returned the Fiziks without any issues. Only kept the Giros as they also take SPD cleats with virtually no weight penalty and it was my first foray into SPD-SLs, so I liked having the option rather than rising having a £100 pair of shoes sat doing nothing.
