I need to carry 2 bikes (possibly 3) on a fairly regular basis.
What options are there on the i3, on the basis that I can’t keep them inside the car due to passengers.

Can you get roof racks?
Can you attach a bike carrier to the rear? Not so keen on this as i think the whole tailgate is glass??

Is the only option a sea sucker?

Properly engineered solution: https://paulchensystem.net/Bike-Carrier/BMW/i3::31...

No official roof load so beyond that either chance it with the suction cups or put it inside.

Is the car rated for a tow hitch? By far the best solution. We have a Halfords rack which is more than sufficient (can take three bikes).

Speak to Roofbox, they’ve always provided excellent service for us.

Holy crap - that looks a right pigs ear!

Brink are now doing towbars (they look like towbars but aren’t - they’re cycle rack adapters) for EVs.

https://brink.eu/en-gb/towbars/towbar-types/bike-c...

There is also a company in Germany called AHK Preisbrecher who will almost undoubtedly do one, although with some they will only fit so you need to take your car to Germany, these are all TÜV approved and come with a mountain of compliance documentation. Note that they aren’t approved for towing if your car isn’t type approved as such, and as such tge actual towball will only work with bike racks.

I’ve just taken my Mercedes SL all the way to Germany to have one of these fitted - just made a mini break of it, so now I can take my bikes on holiday in my actual proper “holiday car”.
