Still looking. Anyone getting a new bike soon? Most things are still out of stock with apparently Cannondale come back in stock end of January. Want a road bike I'll see as my main bike as I have an aluminum Ridley for wet days but with shortages still it's been hard going.

I’ve been after a winter bike for some time now. Bit the bullet and ordered this from Sigma yesterday.

My only other bike is a Trek Emonda SL Disc with upgraded carbon wheels and bars, so I expect the R2 will be a little different! Train hard, fight easy and all that…

I managed to pick up a 2021 Giant TCR a few weeks ago, although the place I got it from said they only had two in stock when I purchased it. My local Giant dealer said they could order one for me when I popped in, with the ETA being May 2022.

Brand new bikes still seem to be in short supply.

Have a 10yr old Ribble, now consigned to turbo as I struggle to find wheels that fit as the rear starts are narrow. I'd have another but the backlog in order is crazy.

I'm still thinking Cannondale Supersix as some are saying stock available in January but unless you buy the Hi-Mod, the colours are a bit boring. They do a black with the latest Ultegra Di2 12spd on. What that also means is the whole groupset is Ultegra and not them going cheap but putting a 105 or lower cassette on.

I recently bought a Spesh Tarmac SL7 Comp with the new Sram Rival electronic groupset. I would have preferred to wait for the new Shimano Ultegra 12sp di2 but I’m actually glad I didn’t. The Sram works flawlessly and is very intuitive to use. Shimano equipped bikes seem to still be months away, my dealer couldn’t give me any indication of when they would likely see either Spesh or Trek. The price also went up again on Jan by yet another £250. Fortunately I was able to get a small discount which paid for some aero bars and a power meter which I will fit in due course. The supply chain issues don’t seem to be abating any time soon, the likes of Canyon and Ribble have speculative delivery dates but I’ve read of people being told last minute of delays, delays and more delays.

If you see a bike that you like the look of, I’d simply recommend buying it. You can always tweek the spec later should you not like some of the parts but obviously changing an entire groupset wouldn’t be financially sound. I have a few upgrades in mind and am looking forward to the spring and summer.

You should love the bike, I have an Kinesis Aethin aswell as Specialized Venge, and whilst it's a couple mph slower, feels just as fun.

Still slightly amazed that's the prove for Tiagra alu bike now!

I've got an R1. I really like it. I dare say there are better bikes out there (ok, I'm certain there are better bikes out there!), but it's being compared by me to my previous 20+ year old steel bike, it's a whole different class already smile

Yes, it's nuts that £1500 seems 'cheap' for this spec nowadays.

Bike arrived last week. great service from Sigma - literally just needed to pop the bars on. Also added some of Kinesis' own full aluminium Fend Off mudguards which seem solid and give great coverage. Maiden ride should be either Wednesday or at the weekend, but it's a great looking thing, especially the frame. Pics / report on the ride to follow...

Must admit, I was tempted to go for the R2 over the R1 just for that paint (but decided I was too keen to try 1x)

I've had a new bike on order since September. Delivery due end of this month. I suspect if you want something particular it's going to be a waiting game. Best bet if you want something quickly is be flexible on make model and spec.

If the stars align, I’d like to replace my gravel bike this year. It’s had a hard life over the past 6 years and the carbon frame shows many scrapes and scars. I still think it’s been great value for money as it’s been used on everything from smooth tarmac to rocky, rooty, singletrack. Kit is mostly fine, so I could get away with just a frame/forks if needed.

No rush, so I’ll see how stock goes through the year.

As an alternative... I saw a chap in Canada mask off and spray underside of down tube etc with spray on black truck bed liner, I think it looked awesome.

Looked him up, Dustin Klein on youtube.

OMG we had a mate in the Army called Dustin Klein - can't be a common name and VERY unfortunate too. his nickname was "Turtle" throughout my time knowing him. i didn't get it until it was explained to me. Dustin Klein = "just in time" = "Turtle's head"

I am going to treat myself to a new bike i think.
I deserve it!
I need a hardtail 27.5 or 29 with a double crank so i can use it on trails/on the road. Larger crank a 40minimum .
Happy to spend 1500 quid. But i dont think such a bike exists!
My 2012 26 cannondale sl1 is a decade old but still ok for a bit...
