Neilpryde bikes
Discussion
Ive been offered a Neilpryde carbon framed bike by a guy i know through a Saturday cycling group to replace my elderly Specialized Tricross Comp 2009.
I've never heard of Neilpryde, and googling doesn't bring up much info apart from an old review, which is pretty positive.
Is it worth having a look or would I just be landing myself with a "no name" bike that I can't sell on in a few years time?

Neil Pryde was mainly known as a manufacturer of windsurf kit. Now owned by the Chinese with a broader portfolio I think.I've never heard of Neilpryde, and googling doesn't bring up much info apart from an old review, which is pretty positive.

If you can't bring up much about the bike, in years to come you'll be sidling up to someone at a Saturday cycling group...

Neilpryde moved into cycling from windsurfing for a few years, HK-based before offloading the operation to a UK outfit which then…disappeared.I've never heard of Neilpryde, and googling doesn't bring up much info apart from an old review, which is pretty positive.

They were good bikes, just friggin’ expensive with little in the way of (cycling) history behind them, at a time when every Tom, Dick and Harry was jumping on the “boutique” carbon frame bandwagon. I believe their bikes ran standard bits (seatposts, headsets etc) however no idea bout mech hangers.
Been have a look and think I will go for it. It's really light and a nice colour
Not immaculate, but only scuffs where you'd expect them
It's got Vision carbon wheels and he's throwing in a brand new spare rear derailleur and some tribars.
On the negative side, there's a few millimetres of.play in the rear bearings so I'll need to adjust and lube them.
