Cycling after DVT?
Discussion
Hello,
I was wondering if any of you good people have experience of cycling after having had DVT?
My situation is that I had DVT (in my upper leg) in mid Sept, I'm on apixaban which is very slowly helping dissolve the clot but it could be months before it's gone. The doctor says to walk as much as I can bear, even if it hurts a bit and swells a bit. I forgot to ask about cycling!
Thanks in advance

10 sec to google suggests yes

although another 30 sec of reading suggests you are more likely to develop another clot and cycling maybe a cause of getting them anyway

I had VITT, vaccine induced clots on lungs and leg and was told I could cycle no problem. I’m on blood thinners.
Was told to avoid contact sports, due to various risks so have given MTB a miss as I tend to have falls due to being over enthusiastic.
I’d speak to your consultant/GP etc
