Could anyone recommend a rear light that doesn’t mount with rubber bands/o-rings?

I’m after a rechargeable rear light that has a proper fixed mount, with detachable light unit so it can be charged preferably under £50

There seems to be loads of front lights like this but not many (if any) rears.

It’s for a commuter bike, I just hate the rubber band style lights I always knock them when putting my bike in it’s bike locker and they look awful.
Or am I asking for the moon on a stick?

You can get a cateye mount that attaches to the saddle rails. I've got one on all my bikes, looks so much cleaner than the horrible post mount solutions.

Then get a viz150 or similar.

I have a B&M Toplight Line. Designed to mount to a rear rack, but I got an adapter for the seatpost screw, and bodged it onto a rear reflector mount. It is a dynamo light, though.

(The middle one with the wire).

Thanks for the replies.

shalmaneser I think that’s probably the best option for me, looks ideal.

I still can’t believe that the options are so limited though.

A Moon Nebula has a mount and detaches from that by pushing a small lever, then sliding out.. The seat post mount uses O-rings but I've not had any trouble with mine. There is a seat-rail mount included but I've never tried that.

The Moon Arcturus also fits into the same mount.

I have a Specialized Power saddle with their 'SWAT' fixings, and the Stix / Flux lights attached better than any other setups, also work pretty decently.

Other bike i use Exposure Trace which clip in and out of the mount well (attached itself with rubber straps), and love the lights

I custom designed and printed a saddle mount for my exposure TraceR to go onto my S-Works Power saddle (using the SWAT mounts)

Much better than a seatpost mount and much more visible

Ive been using the Bontrager Flare
https://www.trekbikes.com/nz/en_NZ/equipment/bike-...

It has a small plastic base which attaches using a rubber strap and stays on the bike and the light unit clips on or detaches for USB charging.
Its designed for daylight use so its super bright.

I had one of these. It has the rubber band mount, but I always found that worked well.

The light itself was a bit disappointing tbh. Bright and looked neat, but limited battery life meant lots of recharging and a permanent back up light which kinda negated the neat look of the Nebula.

Then after 18mths it failed completely. Not great for what was a 50quid light at the time. A better buy now they are 30 quid!

Hopefully this will last, I only paid £20 new.

It’s more visible than my previous light & I only ride a night when commuting: an embarrassing 15-20min ride each way so battery life isn’t too much of an issue.

If it does turn out to be junk I’ll try something else and report back.
