Best place to buy the new Pinarello Dogma F
Discussion
I'm in the market for a Pinarello Dogma F disc, size 51.5cm, and built with the new Ultegra 12spd Di2 group-set, which I hope to have, ready to ride, for next Easter.
My order of preference is as follows;
1) F in a MyWay colour.
2) F in a standard colour.
3) F12 in a MyWay colour.
4) F12 in a standard colour.
I'm struggling to get my head around how Pinarello bikes are distributed and sold in the UK and who to approach to stand the best chance of meeting my objective.
As I understand it, Cicli Pinarello are the UK distributor and have two official stores in London and Manchester - is this correct?
The reason I ask is that I've been given conflicting information;
a) One shop has told me that Pinarello Manchester is a franchise, like a Specialized Concept Store, and not part of Pinarello UK.
b) The store manager at Manchester has told me that whichever shop I order through, the order for the frame will come through him.
So who and what do I believe?
I'm keen to cut-out as many middle parties as possible and go straight to the top, to stand the best chance of getting a bike within my time frame.

Where in the country are you?
I’d be approaching a localish bike shop who stock/sell them as you will need them should any problems occur and if/when you need it servicing.
I wouldn’t be buying from a shop at the other end of the country.
If in Yorkshire, I believe Prologue do them and get them pretty often
Chris.

I can’t really help but think it will be a tough call to get a bike to spec by Easter.
I was looking at Orbea through my LBS and went in two weeks ago. They’ve told me that to buy to spec I’ll be looking at 2023! They were good enough to show me their order system and what they have coming in and when in case I wanted to reserve anything. Nothing they had on order was close enough to what I wanted.
If you have to have a bike to spec by Easter I think your best bet is looking at another brand and going through one of the bigger chains that will hopefully have an order that matches your need. But I appreciate this may be something you won’t want to consider.
My understand is that the delays are down to complements not frames. Lots of factories with lots of frames waiting for parts.

Yes I know that things are dire out there right now in the supply chain.
I don't have to have a new bike by next Easter, I have others that I can ride, it's just that it will be nice to have it for next season.
If I do buy an F it will be a custom build so it's just the frame in a desirable colour that I'm mainly focused on.
I've seen F custom builds on my Facebook group going out to customers so there do seem to be some bikes already out there.

Here you go, sigmas' comparison of the 2. The F must be fast, he broke my KOM on that circuit! funnily enough I actually saw them there that day filming. And then I got the "uh-oh" email later. Anyway, I severely doubt there is really 25secs difference between them (especially as it was a flawed test without power/heart rate)

You could always get one of the reputable bike painters to do a custom paint job. My understanding is its the components that are in short supply not frames?
You may well be right, but I've tried this approach before and was told that Pinarello won't honour the warranty if the frame is painted by a third partyOf little help to the question on availability / timing etc, but I always thought If I were ever looking to buy a Pinarello I’d go back to their shop in their home town of Treviso (Venice) in Italy.
Treviso was a a nice place and the shop and workshops attached were a great place to spend an hour or so. There’s also an annual Pinarello ‘La Pina’ gran fondo / sportive.

Update:
I've placed an order for an F in Plutonium Flash colour which will be expected in March 2022 - if I'd gone for a MyWay I'd be waiting until late Summer 2022 for delivery.
The best bit is that my dealer has to be one of the first in the UK to receive the new Ultegra R8100 12spd group-set - he received three sets at the end of last-week and one has been reserved for my build.
The Enve SES AR 3.4 wheels with CK gold hubs have also come into stock, so its all looking good to have my finished bike by next April - can't wait!
