Strava Segment and Biggest Climb issues
Discussion
Really enjoying my road cycling at the minute having bought my bike a few months back.
I love strava having used it for years for running and love looking at the stats after a ride. I have an issue where it is telling me my biggest climb is for a segment that is not a climb at all. Strava lists the segment as 0.80km, 109m gain and 13.6% gradient.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of this. I'd rather not delete the ride as I will more than likely be riding this segment again and again as it is on the quickest of 2 possible commute routes.
Out of interest on a 0.8km stretch with 109m elevation gain at 13.6% gradient what sort of time would you be looking at to ride it.

I had a similar issue and raised a ticket with Strava a couple of years ago. Here's the reply:

You can correct your elevation on Strava if you would like to reference our known elevation database instead of the barometric altimeter data recorded by your GPS device. If you change your mind, click the text again to revert back to the original distance.
To correct your elevation:
Click on the link directly below your current elevation listed on the Activity Details page, where it says "Elevation(?)" in small letters.
From the pop-up, click "Correct Elevation."
When the status changes from "Calculating" to "Updated," refresh the page.
For more information, see our article on elevation for your activity (https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216919447). Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
I went ahead and adjusted the elevation data for you this time to help out.

Just go and do a bigger climb?
Also 109m elevation over 800m sounds very much like a climb to me? Or is Stravas elevation data wrong? I've seen segments that have dodgy GPS data for paths that run along valleys for example, where the track has drifted off to the side so Strava thinks the segments goes up the side of the valley.

Unfortunately, that doesn't fix it. In my case, I had completed hundreds of bigger climbs, but when you looked at my profile, my biggest climb was stuck resolutely at 108m.I don't understand why Strava misidentified this 108m climb as my biggest, nor do I completely understand why clicking 'Correct Elevation' fixes it (the climb still shows as 108m). Just some back-end glitch with Strava.
