OK it's been a long while since I bought decent forks. My current are non-boost Pikes.

Where should I buy 36s from anywhere known for good pricing? Ideally 150/160mm travel.

If I bought from the EU will I get stung on taxes?

I thought I saw Bike Park Wales post something on their Instagram about having 36's in stock recently.

Why do you fancy changing? I've got 150mm Pike Ultimates on my hard tail and 160mm 36 Factory Grip 2 on my full sus, both are lovely forks. I'm a lard arse and the Pikes needed 1 token to give me the support I wanted, the Fox none so far.

My Pikes are I think 5/6yrs old. They were new old stock a couple of years ago when I bought them.

If you can’t get any 36s at the moment (until you can) a stop gap might be to have your current Pikes tuned and serviced/ possibly travel adjusted. TFTuned offer all sorts of packages I believe. Then when you can find some 36s should be a decent amount of resale value.

Ive got a pair of Pike RCT3s at 160mm and they’re brilliant.

It'd chucking more money at them and ideally I want something new. My bike is a boost bike and the forks are non boost and ....the wrong trail for the frame by quite abit!

Fair enough, sounds like they've done the job! I bought both my bikes from Evo Cycles in Eastbourne, they had tons of high end fork hanging on the wall when I got my last bike a month ago. Also DVO, they spoke very highly of them.

That’s fair enough. Have you looked on the Pinkbike classifieds? Might be able to find a nearly new used fork.

Cheers had a look. Think I've found some new 36 Grip2 on Facebook. Will need to drop the 170mm travel though frown

Maybe keep an eye out for RS Lyrik too. I've got a pair at 160mm on the front of my FS as it was going to be $800 extra for the Fox36. No complaints in two years. A ride buddy has Fox36 on his bike, which is the same age as mine, and there's so little difference in the feel, certainly at my level.

Fox feel different to Rockshox, you might find you prefer a lyrik if you like the way your bike feels - you’ll also find one cheaper than a decent 36 because the lower end dampers are really not worthy of the chassis.

And you can almost always upgrade the internals to the latest spec, very easy to do. Same with swapping out to a newer and longer/shorter air spring. I did that with my RS revolutions - quick change of internals and they are a pair of brand new pikes. Can do the same from Yari to Lyric.

Pink bike second hand?

Or I'd go down the low end and then upgrade route via push or vorsprung.

I've got EXT forks, lyric ultimate, and boxxers, on my current bikes. None are as good as the vorsprung fettled pikes I had.

Frame is a XL santa cruz 5010 and the headtube is huge so 2ndhand choices very limited

So I bought a set of 36s. Bloke bought them from a manufacturer who was clearing out their stock for builds.

Looking at the code on the legs and crown on Fox's sight it appears the forks are frankenstine forks....

180mm uppers for kabolt bolt through (online states for orange forks)

OE 160mm lowers.. (online states for black forks)

Unknown at this stage if the internals are grip2 or variant for e-bike (lesser Fox 34)

Forks upper and lowers are completely brand new...

I only checked the codes when at home..

Any ideas on why that would happen?

If you goose your uppers needing a replacement it's usually when your lowers are beint/been used.

Unless these were done for racing for the company team.

That part should be easy to tell from the adjustment knobs shouldn't it - does it have separate adjusters for high and low speed compression and rebound damping?
