Need to replace my old bike as it's done it's service. It's 16kg's with accessories so hoping for something a bit lighter this time round but otherwise fairly open to suggestions, although not secondhand. Just used twice a week for fitness and fresh air up to 30 miles max - nothing more serious than that.

Anyone seen any good deals about or is it a case of buy whatever is in stock?!

Buy whatever’s in stock! I have a Trek FX3 and have found it a great all rounder. No idea on stock currently though!

Spent a lot of time looking at this sort of thing. Nearly went for Pinnacle Neon 2 (Evans - £775) but decided on a Giant Escape 0 (£899). 28 more sleeps till delivery!
The Escape 1 is on budget. Whyte have good options too at this price. Balfes and Rutland seem to have stock or try the manufacturers websites for shops you might not have heard of. That’s how I found my ebike from a local shop I didn’t know existed.

Presume you mean get something WITH hydraulic disc brakes?
They are a huge improvement on all other brakes: they work better as brakes, especially in the wet, & make it easier to take the wheel off (something I’ve done a lot of, doing some 1-way rides then returning in the car SWMBO drove.
Well worth having
