Does anyone know what the minimum roof length is needed for a Sea Sucker with a medium-sized road bike? (Specifically, it's for a 458 Italia - the roof is so pingy, and the rear spoiler similar, the whole thing needs to fit on the glass engine mount.)

There isn’t a minimum distance as such for the rack as it mounts to the fork legs and then there’s a holder for the rear wheel. So the distance is whatever the distance is from the fork leg of your bike to where the rear wheel (tyre) touches the ground, plus a little extra either end for the cups.

If you can provide me with the measurement for your bike, I can set my bike up as if it was yours and confirm the total length needed, including the space needed for the cups.

I can't answer the question (came here because I've been looking at Sea Suckers) but just wanted to say I admire that you're putting one on a 458. Nice to read of cars getting enjoyed!

You need to put the bike up on the roof (hold just over) and look at the length of the 2 touch points - bottom of rear wheel and the fork drop outs.
Just ensure it all stays on the glass.
This is my 29er mtb on my GTs if it helps at all

Amazing your going to stick your bike on top of a Ferrari, make sure the roof and cups are really clean with no grit otherwise it will definitely scratch your car , also a bit of grit got between the rear wheel plastic tighten strap and roof and also scratched it , and I thought I was being ultra careful .

I think 104cm plus cup radiuses is too long.

The point is not to use the roof as a mount point at all as it is just too flexible.
