Can I fit sram etap bits to a sram red bike

If you definitely want electronic shifting then go for it, Red etap is simply awesome.
When it works, yes. But I had my etap Red RD fail totally last November - wouldn't shift in either direction. Weight Weenies forum suggests there was a bad batch. Anyway, it was just within warranty and Sram replaced it with the newer A2 version which is based on the AXS internals. I didn't notice much difference in shifting speed but have recently, after just 4,000 miles, discovered a horrible degree of slack/play in the pivots nearest the battery. It still shifts reasonably cleanly as the slack isn't so evident when it's held under chain tension. But I'm keeping a close watch on it, though don't know if they'd honour a 2nd warranty claim. Be aware that the original etap RD came in short and long cage versions. The A2 has one size only, which they claim will handle up to 33T sprocket.
Also, you'll find the set-up and indexing is way easier and quicker than with a mechanical system!

Yes. Depends how much you value electronic shifting.
Its for losers TBHLifelong cyclist here and have seen many fads come and go, electronic shifting being one of many
Whats the point?
Cables are just so primeval and manly
I have specific tools for tinkering, my cable cutters are sacred and I forbid my son from using them for cutting his guitar strings
GET YOUR OWN CABLE CUTTERS
Trimming your mechs is a joy
Continuing to trim as cables stretch and sometimes leave you stranded if you're an unsympathetic idiot also compulsory cycling rites of passage
Fitting new cables then tweaking as they bed in most satisfying
Similarly replacing all the ferules and end caps so they are 'just so' gives a huge rush of endorphin
Truly the stuff of dreams
Oh, by the way I went Di2 at Easter and have never looked back
Mechanical shifting belongs in a museum
Dont tell my club mates please
Cheers
