Just starting.
Quali canceled yesterday due to gusty conditions, so all riders going for a single run race.
Course looks even more gnarly this year.

Enjoyed it, though did think Bernard had a bit of an unfair advantage. Bring on Rampage next.

Loved it, the coverage seemed better that the usual Redbull DH WC stuff and Reece Wilson/Rob Warner commentary worked a treat. Prefer this to Rampage TBH find that abit too freeride at times.

Well it is a big mountain free ride event.. though i do agree it has gone a little more slopestyle and less big

Smith’s crash looked pretty nasty, he was looking very good for the lead too.

First time I watched it this year, fascinating.

There was a lot of talk about how that new huge drop was unsettling, but from watching on the TV it was the little section just after the drop down and the LH berm that looked like barely controlled chaos!

Great event, top track, good filming and Reece smashed it on the commentary!

Glad there were no major injuries and Joe Smith seems pumped again for next year! Hopefully Gee is back then too.

What to do for next year though! I don’t think any more big features are needed as the race isn’t won or lost on those, it’s the tech in between.

A big root section with a bus stop before to slow their laze down could be interesting, but don’t know how viable that is in these woods! Let’s see what Dan does!

I would like to see some proper “old school “section, rooty sections so rooty keeping control is the only option, arm pump inducing rock gardens.
Maybe even going back to hardtails and ditch the jumps and tail whips.

Problem is the more technical riding does not translate over to the casual viewer, it has to be a fine line between technical and shock and awe. You have more chance of them switching to e-bikes than hardtails.

This. The problem with anything on video or in photo is that it's very difficult to capture and show just how big or gnarly something is. I was saying to my mate on Sunday that you know the stuff at Hardline is big as it looks big on camera, when it looks big on camera you it's fkin huge!

Steep, rooty, rocky stuff just won't translate into what Hardline is all about which is a track that gets professional downhill racers genuinely nervous. Sort of UK downhill track meets Rampage...

Really liked the huge moto kicker step up straight into the massive drop this year!

I understand the reasons but with suspension so good and getting better, the only real option to keep it interesting and exciting is to put in bigger drops and jumps.
We already have Rampage for the drops and jumps. As it stands now hardline is somewhere in the middle.

Decent sized wall ride could be good, where you have to gap into it. Does take away from the natural type course in though if it's a wooden wall ride.

I assume riders at that level can wall ride on both sides...

Haha you wouldn't be able to pump through a loop on a downhill bike set up for Hardline.

wall ride would be cool though maybe as part of a berm.

Hardline also wasn’t set up to be like a world cup event it was mean’t to be a mix between downhill and big mountain.

Would love to see Semenuk go down it i think he would surprise a few pros

Aye, big wall ride into berm, bit like at Leogang (I think) where Brook Macdonald gapped into it. Savage move.

A drop like Gee's at Rampage a few years ago would be gnarly too. Blind, into a hipped landing.
