Hello all, this might be a tired topic, I have had a search but still feel my query relevant for new topic.

What’s the quickest way to procure a £1,000 gravel bike within 3-4 days? Used or new.

Ok, just spoken to a knowledgeable gent, apparently there is a worldwide shortage of bikes at the moment. Most shops, big or large, don’t have many, if any, bikes. Seemingly most bikes coming into the U.K. at present are already bought and paid for….

So I might switch out the tyres on my hard tail mountain bike.

Cheers.

DHL reckon 48 hours from my door to yours - its been well used, but looked after - you'll love it! Where shall I send my bank details?

As said above there's a huge shortage of bikes globally.

Secondhand is you best bet. There is a Facebook group specific to gravel bikes that is well worth a look.

Cheers mate, I’ll join some groups and see if there is anything reasonably local to me. Same guy I spoke to said 2nd hand prices are through the roof, although not all will be looking to take advantage, or even know.

I purchased a Fuji Jari from Wiggle a couple of weeks ago. It arrived 3 days later. There is some stock about, but you do have to drop lucky with frame sizes and spec.

I just got a boardman CXR 8.9 gravel for just shy of £900 nearly new (rrp is £1100). Took some searching the net and it was the only one the online retailer had, a customer return.

Excellent bike too.

Sounds like a great, and fortunate, deal. Good stuff.

I didn’t realise online stores showed used or returned bikes…?

Seems like a sensible option. Unless you’re looking to podium at Dirty Kansa then a hardtail will be perfectly fine.
