I've had Shimano Ultra PD-R8000 on my bike since new (20 months) and have covered 12,000+ miles on them.

I'm noticing a bit of "slop" when I'm clipped in, so had a look today after cleaning the bike and noticed the wear at the toe end of the pedal and wanted to know the thoughts of the PH experts if it's time for a change?

What condition are your cleats in, they're designed to wear out whereas pedals aren't, although looking at that pic the leading inner edge looks badly worn.

I guess you’ve got to go with how they feel and perform. There is wear, but then they have done good mileage.

I presume cleats have been checked / replaced previously? Fresh set might alter the feel and be a bit more secure.

I've changed the cleats a few times and the current set aren't in too bad nick.

Might be time to "splash the cash"……….

Thanks for the replies.

Is it the foot that you clip in and out when waiting at junctions?

I use the same foot and that cleat wears out much quicker.
