Oddness from my gears.

I have the 12 speed Campag SR EPS disc groupy on my ‘A’ bike. Sometimes it does (seemingly)weird stuff at random. The App that drives it is always randomly going screwy ( showing wierd codey gobbledygook on the menu options ) and the like. It normally reverts back after a re download. The latest odd thing that the gears are doing involves the left shift lever. I have it set to race mode, and with standard shifter configuration. Suddenly I noticed that the button on the hood was doing what I expected it to ( downshifting the rings / front mech inwards ) but the lever suddenly wasn’t moving the front mech back out ( up shifting the rings). However, I found that if I moved the brake lever forward, by either squeezing the top of the lever towards the hood, or putting my finger between the shift lever and the brake lever, the shift lever started doing what I expected it to again. It feels like it’s supposed to do it, it doesn’t feel like there’s anything wrong with the levers or buttons. I can’t find anything about this on line anywhere, and it’s not really a problem, it’s just a bit ‘odd’. Does anyone know if this is a strange quirk, or if there’s a good reason for it? Is it just being ‘Italian’ or have I missed a subtlety with it?
