Painting a carbon frame
Discussion
I've got a 2015 S-Works Venge frame that I absolutely love, but it has been knocked a couple of times and sustained some chips to the downtube. Combined with the fact that it has done a few miles, it is showing some wear and tear.
I was considering stripping it all down at the end of the year and having it repainted (Rocket Red - currently black) to freshen it back up. Is this a complete waste of time and money? Does it then devalue it as it's now not original and I could've made a fake one by adding S-Works decals? Is there a specific process to be followed when painting carbon (do I need a specialist?) or can I just go with a trusted painter?
All advice/input welcome.

I painted my S-Works tarmac frame, went from the normal horrible black into a bright camp style orange.
Wouldn't say it devalues it, as long as you do a good job.
I wouldn't worry about it being called a "fake" if you put the right S-works decals on it.
Just get the serial and model number ones and put them back on, at least they can be sent to specialized and they'll be able to confirm what it is

I have had two bikes painted, both by bike specialists. The frame you have won't be a 'complicated' design (unlike my Madone SLR) like my Emonda I had painted 4 years ago so should be straight forward. On both bikes I had the frame/ID number under the downtube retained and lacquered.
Its nice to have something unique and freshened up if you really like the frame.
