Cheap but OK track pump for tight mate
Discussion
My Sunday ride mate is a fine fellow in almost every respect, except that he will not spend any money on maintenance or tools.
How he treats his own bike is his affair of course, but I am getting a little tired of him borrowing my pump all the time. It grates slightly which is a shame because the rides themselves have been a real lifesaver during Covid.
He will never buy himself one so I want to get him a cheap but OK track pump as a birthday present. Any suggestions - this is the cheapest one on Wiggle but is it any good? Road bike with 25mm tyres so needs to manage ca 120psi OK.

cheapest you can find that has a guage. they are not exactly the height of engineering.
I've had mine about 10 years and it cost me a tenner. Just a quick check on Amazon resulted in new "foot" pumps, no idea of their ease of use but seems decent from the stars.

Quick hijack on the subject; can anyone recommend a "low profile" track pump? There isn't enough valve sticking out of my "handmade in Halifax" POS for my trusty 25yr old pump to grab hold of.
Oi, this is my thread;) Keep the old pump if it's a good one and get some new inner tubes with longer valve stems. dontlookdown said:

I've been using that one for a few years, and it does the job well. Haven't had any issues getting tubeless tyres seated with it eitherHow he treats his own bike is his affair of course, but I am getting a little tired of him borrowing my pump all the time. I was going to recommend the one I have which was cheap, but a quick Google suggests they're not available any more. Think the brand was Bulldog but I can't be sure without a trip to the stables.
Absolutely no need to spend big bucks though, even the gauge need not be accurate, as long as it reads consistently.

Mine was a cheapy from Halfords around £25 as far as I remember. Does Presta and schrader. Similar to this one.

Screw a presta adapter on and pump it up with the other side of the pump head. Been using one of these for a year. Not bad for £7.50

I bought this in 2020

It's brilliant - the narrow tube means that getting 120psi is easy, and the valve attachment is well engineered.
Very nice to use pump.
I see it's £40 - I paid £25 in February 2020! But I'd uy it again at the current price. It's a good pump.
