Next door are moaning about the vibrations from my turbo trainer. I'm going to be nice about it and try to resolve the issue.

Current setup is a Life Line TT01 (cheap £100 job from Wiggle) on a 6x4ft area covered by these foam tiles from Halfords https://www.halfords.com/tools/garage-equipment/ga... although mine were £10 and the 60cmx60cm ones. Turns out they aren't very good at dampening vibrations; the turbo trainer is upstairs (only place I have room for it) and gets pretty regular use. The foam tiles are placed over carpet, and I'm guessing it's wooden floorboard under the carpet (new build so not the greatest quality house).

I'm going to need something to dampen the noise better, any suggestions? I came across this https://www.screwfix.com/p/mottez-shock-absorbing-... which apparently works well for washing machines, but not sure how good it'll be for what I need.

I doubt you’d ever get a quiet solution other than a more expensive trainer and even then on a wooden based floor you’re still going to feel the movement when pushing on.

When I lived in a flat (victorian conversion) on first floor I bought some paving slabs from travis perkins and put those down on the rubber matting and had the turbo on that, I suppose you could create a little platform for it, I think I only bothered with two at the back, and just stuck the front on the highest riser to offset the height gain. I never got any complaints. That was with a Kurt Road Machine, quite a loud thing.

One of the rocker plates that uses rubber bushes (rather than pillow bearings) as the pivots might help damp the transmitted vibrations?

I have one I have just taken off a bike as Ive upgraded the turbo and sold the bike that was on it - probably done about 1000 miles. DM me your address and I'll post it to you for a fiver donation to your favourite charity if you like.
