Issue with bike purchased from national chain
Discussion
Right, my previous topic on this has been removed due to naming and shaming? I will try again.
Bike (MTB) has clicked from new two months ago. Bike has been back twice. Seller changed pedals first time. Didn't work. Seller changed pedals second time. Bike is now, unsurprisingly, clicking again.
Seller has told me they are all out of ideas.
Moral of the story - be careful when buying bikes from national chains.
Hope that is ok and this thread isn't removed now. Please can nobody mention the seller name. Thanks.

Are you sure it's the pedals?
I spent AGES tracking down a creak / clicking on my bike.
New Keo pedals.
Removed, cleaned, greased BB.
Removed, cleaned, greased QR axles.
Removed, cleaned, greased seat post / saddle rails fixing points, and the seat post into the frame.
The source?
Saddle rails into the saddle!!

I seriously doubt it's the pedals. I am thinking it's either the headset or the bb. I would look at it myself, but it's new. If there is a manufacturing issue, I don't want to be accused of breaking anything.I spent AGES tracking down a creak / clicking on my bike.

To be told that if it isn't the pedals they haven't got a clue, is a bit silly.
If it's any consolation, a guy on our club ride today had a total freehub failure on a 3-week old Domane bought from a reputable LBS. Horribly noisy for first couple of miles then ended up spinning freely in either direction! Maybe there's a quality control issue on new bikes given the global components drought?

That's odd, a friend of mine had exactly the same thing with his new Giant Defy. Freehub FUBARed after 2 months.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
