Mountain bike for 11 year old boy

Hi gents,

My nephew turning 11 in April and is after a mountain bike, my sister hasn’t a clue where to even start and has asked me and I’m now struggling. Everything I look at is way over budget..

He’s showed us the Trek Marlin 7, is this any good ? Think he likes the look of it rather than anything else.

Any advice or help is appreciated..

What would you guys recommend for a young boy starting secondary school?

They've gone up a bit since our kids had them but
Islabikes
are great - don't look particularly flashy but they really know how to dial in components and geometry for kids

10-11 is a difficult age as they will begin to shoot up. We recouped 80% on the sales of our multiple islabikes over the age 3 - 12 year window we were buying them for the kids

Another vote for Islabikes or Frog bikes. At that age they will outgrow the bike before you know it. There is a strong secondhand market for both brands.
