Are these bib shorts genuine?
Discussion
Been looking for some good quality bib shorts on a budget, as my Le Col ones are great but with summer coming up I need an extra pair. I want good quality ones (have made the mistake before of buying a "Wish.com special"!) and have been recommended Castelli by multiple people.
Came across these on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CASTELLI-SIDI-PECK-CYCL...
Appears to be from a good honest seller, however a couple of things are making me second guess.
1. The price. Most Castelli bibs I'm looking at are around £120, even the cheapest ones from Wiggle/Sigma are almost double the price of these.
2. A google search of Castelli Sidi Peck shorts pretty much brings up this eBay link and nothing else. So it's got me wondering; genuine Castelli or not?

I'm after some too. What I've been doing is asking or looking at the chamois then checking it against other online images. The only issue is the changing patterns for each year but you can generally see......
If they are let us know as I will buy them too and not yet the dhb aeron ones

I swear by these, comfier than Castelli and DHB (got both brands) price sits in the middle of them. Quality is good as well (sizing the same as Castelli so if your a normal shaped 5’ 10” 80kg 40 something go for XL

Well, there’s not a single picture of the pad which is the most important part of the shorts... to me that says they change suppliers and can’t guarantee what the pad will look like
Basically you find a manufacturer/wholesaler, send them some designs, create a website, then charge a fortune for a cheap product because you’ve used a good typeface and it looks a bit like rapha....

Which is the model for most of the bike industry from socks to frames, in fact its the entire model for the clothing fashion industry - guess what, some resellers choose to use good quality suppliers rather than the cheapest. I’ve ridden enough miles for my arse to give me a decent enough test report of whats good and what isn’t and these are more comfortable than the big ‘reputable’ brands i’ve tried including Castelli. On the basis of of your view point does any company you’ve never heard of automatically produce st?Basically you find a manufacturer/wholesaler, send them some designs, create a website, then charge a fortune for a cheap product because you’ve used a good typeface and it looks a bit like rapha....
Follow the link. It's satire, but it's not far wrong.
If you like your le-col, why not get more? There's almost always some kind of 'do meaningless thing you'd do anyway and get a discount code' challenge on strava for them too. As for the ebay kit, if it looks too good to be true.. I'd be very skeptical.

I'd say genuine, the sellers others items look like they just have random sports clothing they are flogging, probably bought overstocks or a job lot from a local auction.
A picture of the actual item is usually telling - the fake Castelli stuff I've seen is very poor, it's basically a Castelli design printed on a stock pattern, so the shapes are completely wrong, colours which are supposed to match seam lines do not, and the shorts all use old-style leg grippers. Also the labeling/tags are missing, if it's a new item.

What does that even mean and how are they fake? I’ve bought a load of their kit, its comfy, well made and theres a complete lack of tech bks about special properties that make you ride faster.
Casp are not a 'fake' brand, just to remove any doubt. They're a legit manufacturer. As for the shorts in OP - if they're referencing Cervelo Test Team then they'll be 10 year old designs, coupled with Sidi logo's etc, probably explains why they're cheap.

Always a £50 off as you say, also they do a refer a friend where you both get a gillet. If you like your le-col, why not get more? Well ive msged the seller, and received a very sincere and i believe honest reply confirming they are a genuine Castelli product, so i for 1 am gonna take the plunge and get a pair, they will look great with my Sidi shoes, and i will report back on here when they arrive.
He apparently got a job lot of just this model, hence the good price !

Thank you - I see many hours of entertainment here.So as promised, im reporting on the Castelli Sidi Peck bibshorts. They arrived today in a Castelli bag with all the tags including the 1 with 3 stickers on, all the motifs etc look correct, no bleed or fade. So ive no doubt whatsoever they are the real McCoy.
They are comfy beyond belief with a Kiss3 pad, just bibshort heaven and cheaper than a sweaty box 2nd hand pair, brand new Castelli's for £42.95 FREEPOST whats not to like. Ok so sizing available is for either a 5ft 4inch pro (s) or those of us slightly more portly who want the comfort and the brand, but perhaps who's abilities dont justify the price, these are stunning, id go so far as to say, this page thread only exists cus they were priced SO cheap it threw doubt into the equation as to whether they were real or not.
Jump in guys, they will be gone in no time now people see this and the sellers comment on here aswell. I may have to get a 2nd pair myself.

I wanted XL, but had to settle with XXL. Just gives me ‘growing room’
