Electric Bike - Speed or Effort Saving?
Discussion
Both IMO. A local-ish trail to me (Chopwell woods) on my hardtail normal MTB I would do just over 10 miles, 1500ft climbing. It would take me and mates a good few hours and me being the most unfit would be dying at points. Lots of pushing also etc.
Enter eebs for us. Same time taken we do around 22 miles and around 2500ft climbing ( the climbing doesn't double like the miles as we also do more flat trails that we wouldn't have bothered with much on the normal mtbs.

I'd say if you can borrow a decent E-MTB give it a try. I've been riding a course at the QE Park near to me for a few months now. It consists of as much uphill as it does downhill.
Today was the first time I've taken the bike out to the QE Park due to work commitments and crap weather for a few months.
As I wanted to make the most of a nice dry day I did my usual route, stopped had a cup of tea then did it again with ease.
For the record when I first did this route when I bought the bike 7 or 8 months ago one stab at the route was enough for my energy reserves and enthusiasm. Today I did it a second time and amazed my self at how easily I was able to just breeze up the uphill sections overtaking with great ease non E-MTB's. I would hasten to add my Giant Trance e + something set in auto and the 625 battery had everything to do with the extra go round.

I do 8 to 10 loops at QE on a 540w battery! All in Eco though. Today was the first time I've taken the bike out to the QE Park

Mind you I will eventually have a big crash down the "new" blue.
