Been casually in the market for a bout 6ish weeks now for an emtb.
But trying to find something that isn't Haibike (don't like the look of these) or a Specialized Levo is borderline impossible banghead

Have you tried the ringing Trek shops, when we went to Coed Y Brenin in the summer, they rented out specialized or trek.

The mechanic commented that they had multitudes of problems with the specialized and the Trek was more reliable.

I haven't and that's purely because I'm not a fan of the vertaclly mounted rear shock.
As for the specialized, at the price point I'm looking at its not the full fat motor BECAUSE it's the SL.

I've got a Giant eMTB, which I love, and which was about the best at my price point at the time - 2 years' ago. It is one of the few to have the Yamaha motor. The Trek eMTBs are also very competitive, Many bike brands have moved into this market now, including Specialised and Scott, but I am less familiar with them.

I reached the conclusion that the 3 main motor manufacturers, Yamaha, Bosch and Brose, are much of a muchness.

A really important factor, though, is local dealer support. These bikes are quite complex and are more liable to problems than non-electric bikes, so I would prioritise those brands which have a dealer within reasonable driving distance of home.

Contrarily, a friend of mine in Exmouth has had a few problems with his Trek 29" eMTB. It needed the rear part of the frame replacing after a couple of weeks as the front chainwheel ground itself into the frame. It wasn't aligned correctly, for a £5k bike. I know, probably a Friday afternoon build....

YT still have some Decoy 29 Pro. Really happy with mine after a year.
There is even UK support now, particularly if you're not too far from Surrey/Guildford.

I bought the cheapest trek EMTB I could find a few years ago, and have abused the hell out of it, and I can confirm yes very reliable.
