XT caliper - service or replace
Discussion
My XT m8000 caliper is sticking. It won’t retract. If I push it back in after cleaning etc and then I apply the brakes then the lever goes floppy and the calipers don’t retract. I am not sure if they are fixable or if it’s just easier to buy a new caliper... any thoughts or advice. Thanks.

Have you tried lubing them with silicone? That is what I had to do when mine were sticking.Gazzab said:

Sounds like a bleed issue to me, Shimanos are a breeze to bleed and you don't have to piss about with Dot fluid. That said, it worth following a good procedure, to avoid the dreaded "wandering bite point" and use Genuine Shimano fluid, I've used Halfords / Citroen stuff in the last in a pinch and shortly afterwards the seals have failed.
