Hey all,
I'm looking for some new pedals for my Stumpjumper.
Currently using Crank Bros double shots, but the flat side of them isn't grippy enough for downhill stuff.
So looking for some flats, and I'll deal with not being clipped in on this bike.
Been looking at all sorts:

https://www.wiggle.co.uk/nukeproof-neutron-evo-ele...
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-f20-flat-...

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.HT-Components-ANS-10-Allo...
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/dmr-v12-flat-m...
From ~£30 to ~£130.
Anyone got any thoughts? Ones to steer clear of? Reccommendations?
Cheers

Not for everyone but I use Magped
grippier than flats but easier to get out of in a hurry than clipless

Something to consider, what size shoe are you? Also you may like a wider stance. I am size 11
I have v8, v12, deore XT and Saint all with long studs
The v8 and v12 I find way to narrow AND don't stick out enough, as is evident by the state of my cranks
The saints are good and have the added bonus of studs in the middle for uber grip but the widest of the bunch for me is the deore XT, which are nice and wide and stick out away from the cranks so I don't rub them and don't get knee pain. I am tempted to put the XTs back on as I am currently rocking the saints.
With a fresh set of free riders any pedals with long studs will stick like buggery, so the most important thing then is the colour and how wide they are and their position against the cranks.

They are good value for money, have them on my hybrid commuter.
I use them up Cannock chase and they stick to your feet in jumps, and for me that is what counts. Any bike I buy i always get them and add Odi x treme grips. I'm sure there are more expensive probably better, but ive never had a pair fail and they take knocks well.Bathroom_Security said:

Quick thread steel. Nice wall mount. Which one is it?I have v8, v12, deore XT and Saint all with long studs

Another vote for V8s.
Look after the bearings and they last very well.
They do weigh about 10% of a total bike though which is why I went for Wellgo magnesium.
The important thing though (other than the size) is the combination of pedal and shoe. Original Vans Wallys on original V8s (non-replaceable pins, no grease port) were like velcro wheras the more modern versions of each I found worked awfully together.

Mottez pedal mount from halfrauds, got two of them.Only complaint is the bike will sometimes roll forward as the tire is the only thing that grips and stops it, bike wont fall off though
May need to put a screw in under the front wheel to stop it
