Hi

Just looking for some advice here. I bought an Orro Venturi in July last year. Unfortunately through a bit of bad luck I crashed the bike at the beginning of August cracking the left seat stay and damaging the front left shifter/brake assembly. Other than these two things the bike is in perfect working order. Because the carbon frame was cracked, my insurance company has paid out, and I'm now the proud owner of another brand new (2021) Orro Venturi.

So, the question is - what to do with the old one? I've had a quote to repair the frame of approx £300 which is warrantied. However I do worry about the integrity of such a repair, bearing in mind I would then likely sell it on, as what is the point in having two of the same bike...

Secondly I'd thought of buying a new frame as the old bike has a full Ultegra groupset, discs, fulcrum wheels hubs etc that are all only a couple of months old, so I'm loathe to have them just sitting there. Probably something like an Alu Emonda as a contrast to the carbon bike.

Thirdly I'd thought of selling it as is - but would anyone buy it and am I better off selling it repaired?

Any other thoughts/suggestions welcome!

Cheers

Keep the parts, sell / give the frame away as is, someone will have it repaired and no come back on you.

Totally up to you. But for the best return, probably just sell all the components individually.
Nothing wrong with a proper carbon repair either. As good/better than when it started, usually at the cost of a little weight.

Buy some knobbly tyres, a single chainring, and a cyclocross frameset, then go racing. Hopefully by the start of the season in September we will be able to race again.

Sell the frame as is and put the parts onto a frame that you can fit guards on for the winter?
