My daughter needed a new bike and moving from an Isla bike Beinn 26 I wanted to stay with a lightweight hybrid bike.

I settled on a Decathlon Triban Flat Bar Road Bike as it's 9.76kg (XS size).

Only issue is I didn't notice the wheels were 700 x 25cc with road tyres.

The majority of her riding will be on road or cycle paths.

The spec says it will take a 700 x 32cc tyre.

Does anyone have any 700 x 32cc tyre recommendations which have grip and are puncture resistant?

Thanks smile

That’s a nice bike there. I’d be looking at schwalbe Marathon plus tyres in a 700cX32c if it was me.

Thanks. Her birthday was August and it took 5 months for stock to come back in!

If you like punctures, they’re great. They roll well, and grip well, but at a price ( punctures ).

The whole supply chain thing is an absolute nightmare at the moment. It’s notoriously bad with cycling stuff at the best of times, this is far from the best of times.

I bought some of these for my 26"-wheeled hardtail that I use daily on about 90% roads. The 10% would be nearly impossible on any other bike but running MTB tyres is tiresome (tyresome?) on the road.

But they are lightweight tyres with zero puncture protection - similar to party balloons. This is in common with many Continental tyres I've tried (I like the black chili rubber) so I'm waiting for a delivery of Panaracer Flataway, which has been 100% successful at keeping punctures at bay in the past several thousand miles.

I’ve run 32mm Continental GP 4 season tyres on winter road bikes and my commuter for absolutely years

They roll ok, last well and have decent puncture protection.

Obvs they’re a semi slick not nobblie but on towpaths and non technical bridleways have enough volume to cope without stressing me

They’re a premium priced tyre and I used to buy from Bike.24 in Germany and get a much better price however that now comes with bonus and random import duty and handling charges. Change the subject smile
