Hi all,

I've found that I can get a new bike via work / company and thinking of something beyond my old mountain bike to break up the running for fitness - the running does trash my knees and ankles, and something that can do gravel paths as well as roads is where I'm thinking, hence a hybrid.

So, shopping around to see what's available, and something that can shave some weight off the bike would be good for when we have all the bikes on the tow hitch and saw:

It's 11KG, seems good to me with the company incentives knocks quite a lot off! Is there anything else to consider? I see the Boardman ones aren't that much lighter, for a fair chunk more cash?

Anyway, any input would be welcome.

Many thanks!

Looks good. Hydraulic brakes good. 16 gears probably the limiting factor. Carbon forks would be a bonus but spec doesn’t say. I’d go for it.

It's alloy forks from the Calibre website, and saw the Boardman and Triban bikes have carbon forks... What's the benefits here other than weight?

This one doesn't seem any heavier the those two so can't change the overall weight too much?

Good spot on the gears, I see it's 2 x 8, so it'll depend on the front sprocket if the spread is decent? But looks like it may be worth a shot!

Carbon forks engineer in a bit of flex so should be comfier and less vibration. Don’t know if the others you’re looking at have hydraulic disks or not. That would be a bigger plus point.
