I know there’s still a lot of uncertainty this year and it’s difficult to predict what restrictions will be in place and for how long. But what better way to forget about COVID than to plan some exciting events / trips.!

I’m hoping to ride a 700km ‘ultra’ in late April, based around the North of England, so I’m looking forward to the training and prep for that. Later in the year perhaps a week in Mallorca, subject to travel restrictions. But mostly just looking forward to some long weekend club rides around lovely Yorkshire.

How about you?

I'm hoping to maybe be able to go out running/cycling/kayaking with more than one other person.
And to go to the pub for a pint afterwards.

Won't be traveling anywhere.

Just want to get back into the velodrome really.... can’t see it happening for a long time though.

I’d like to do a 200km ride at an avg of 25kmh, should be an easy goal.

Start racing again. Not done anything since 2016. I’ll hopefully do some 10s, 25s & 50s on the local Cheshire courses.

Was all set to get stuck in in 2019 but managed to snap my leg in half ! Then 2020 was a write off.

Ride with someone other than me, myself or I! Plus bikepacking since that can be solo or with company.

Simple goals this year, no point chasing watts per kilos, or racing really, 2020 has simultaneously brought my weight numbers up and ftp down!

Pretty humble goal compared to some on here I'm sure, but that's the way to hit them.

Looking to be able to do a 100 mile round trip ride in decent time, so 50 miles, stop for a coffee/food break and then turn back round and do 50 miles home. If I am doing that by the end of 2021 a happy bunny I will be.

Hopefully get a season of TT racing in and go under 22min (27mph+) for a 10.

Only started 'road' (gravel really) riding last Summer, and my riding has been split 50:50 Northumberland and South of France. My goals for 2021 are Mont Ventoux, a full lap of the Verdon Gorge and an imperial century from Berwick across Northumberland NP back home. Not bothered about times or performance, I just enjoy getting out there and looking at the scenery. Would also like to get 7yo daughter more confident on two wheels.

Yeh I’d definitely like to get over that way and do a ride, I’ve done the Blwch from the Ogmore and Cymmer sides but only ever ridden down the side that goes to Rhonda.

It's not far from me. I suspect I've got the legs for it, but my head keeps telling me the conditions (temperature, wind, traffic) needs to be perfect!

5000km
Increase FTP and 5 min Power (I'd like to hit 300w FTP but doubt that's likely)
Drop back down to 68kg

Finding it hard to set event based ones as not really convinced we'll get many in this year, and generally any specific goal. What I've got in mind at the moment are:

  • Ride at least 8000km
  • Do at least 1x 100km ride a month
  • Tick off a couple more of the 100 climbs of UK
  • Expand VeloView Max tile to 25x25 (currently 22x22) and max cluster to more than 1200 (currently 771)
  • Improve FTP which is currently 264w to >280w
  • Get back under 70kg (currently 72kg)

As and when permitted, get back to regular Audaxes (100km and 200km) and pop my cherry on a 400km. I should probably pull my finger out and start RRtY this year once lockdown allows

aiming for 5000 miles in 2012 (2020= 4000 miles). I'm ahead of target so far after 10 days!

Want to do sub 24:30 in my local 10m TT (on a road bike).

Hopefully get a full season of CX in at the end of the year.

No interest in doing any sportives. Hopefully club rides will be allowed at some point.

Mine is simply to build fitness.

I bought my first bike as an unfit over weight 56 year old novice four months ago so I am only 1400 miles into what is a new hobby and I am keen to keep the momentum going, hopefully without doing something daft and injuring myself.

I have invested in TrainerRoad and I am eight rides into their sweet spot base phase plan. So I am looking forward to seeing an improvement in my fitness over the year.

I bought a time trial bike for leisure rides, except I bought it in October just as the weather was turning to ste and the clocks were going back. Now I'm just waiting for the lighter nights and warmer weather so I can get out and do some of my evening local loops on it.

I didn't take advantage of summer and early autumn enough last year, so this year I just want to ride outdoors more.

If you can afford a TT bike why not invest in some lights and warm gear?
