I sold an old QR axle bike in the summer that I used on my Turbo Trainer.

All my current bikes have through axles so I need to buy a Tacx through axle adapter (A Tacx T2835 I think) but I cannot find one for love nor money.

Has anyone got any recommendations on any adapters I can buy to convert the rear wheel from a CUBE RA 0.8 CX wheelset (142x12) to accept a standard Tacx QR skewer I have please? The turbo trainer is a Tacx i-Genius

Thanks in advance!

I had a Tacx flow with QR, came with the Tacx qr squwer.
I wanted to put my thru axle road bike on, so bought the correct adapter

Replaced my bikes thru axle and worked fine - my boardman used the T1710

I don't have any real knowledge of this...but are none of the ones listed here good enough?

Just moved from a qr bike to thru axle myself and have bought this and it works a treat on the turbo.

What frame is it? You have the be quite careful the thread pitch doesn’t catch you out if buying a thru axle for a turbo.

If in doubt, use the finder or print a sheet from the Robert Axle Project and check your current thru axle against it.

Going through this issue myself - and most of the thru axles on their own aren't really suitable.

To attach to a trainer with the screw on bolts on both sides, you need a thru axle replacement that's got heavy 'nuts' at both ends rather than the usual indent for a hex/allen key.

The usual recommendation seems to the the Traxle made by Kurt Kinetic, though trying to source one of these is virtually impossible. Not available for love or money, and the only ones are off eBay to be shipped from the states at stupid money!

There are a few alternatives like the ones sold by Wiggle (Lifeline branded), Wahoo's kit of 3 adapters or the Saris ones - again, these are sold out everywhere.

If anyone has any advice on where to source one for a 12 x 142mm, with a 1.5mm thread pitch - all ears smile It's so I can load my Boardman ADV 8.9 bike on a PlanetX Fluid Turbo trainer. The standard one that comes with the kit is a QR skewer, which doesnt fit my bike.

Found the Saris one on CRC and it came through a couple of days ago. Fitted it and seems fine - a little overengineered with the extra bolt so I feel a little ripped off paying £40 for something I'm only going to use half of, but it's at least available and I guess the best I could do in COVID times.

If you need a thru axle that'll work on your turbo then take a look at Robert Axle Project. They make all manner of compatible axles.

SJS are the distributor in the UK for them.

That's handy to know, but damn those prices eek

FYI - the Lifeline adapters at Wiggle/CRC are back in stock as of this morning. £20 compared to £50-70 that SJS are charging for the Robert Axle ones.

Similar issues, but I actually have the thru axle converter kit for my Tacx and can't make bike fit after hours of playing around.

I've got either 'wobble' on the drive side with 0.5cm or so space between cap and dropout, or nice tight attachment and cassette which doesn't turn.

Quick update. This eventually arrived from Deporvillage after a few delays and it was spot on. Thanks so much everyone for the help!
