I’m wondering are there any watches that are really compatible with riding a bike. I use a onboard computer on my road bike (element bolt) but would like swatch for my off road bike and maybe golf.
Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers

Garmin Fenix 6 Pro here (non-Sapphire Glass) but the Instinct will do most of what the Fenix line will do minus mapping, which on a small watchface screen is a bit pointless. I use mine in combination with my 530 bike computer. Both are fantastic bits of kit.

I have a Suunto 9, works as well as the Garmin IMHO, battery lasts a fair while too.

Just to preface this comment: I’m saying this as someone with a Garmin Forerunner watch and Edge 530 computer

Remember that Garmin is best described as mediocre hardware, awful software.

Whoever designed my “sports” watch wants kicked in the face, followed by kicking their backside out the door and seeing if you can hit a 3 pointer with their scrumpled up P45.

I was sucked in to their ecosystem by my first fitness watch being made by them. If you are already using a wahoo computer, think long and hard before going down the Garmin path with your wrist ware.

Disagree.

Garmin Fenix is great and equal or better than the competition in my own experience of different systems.

Yes, I have one too, you can even get it to display a route, albeit as a red line on a white background. Now using a 6X as where I work gives you £500 towards a watch after 10 years at the company.

Had a Fenix 3 for years now have a Fenix 6X Pro both have been 100% reliable. Pay the extra for the Sapphire glass, its worth it. I also bought the titanium strap because the standard rubber strap on the 6 gave me a rash.

Garmin 945. Same software as the Fenix but a nicer form factor (IMO)
