I am wanting to switch out my shimano 105 11-30 for an 11-34. Without buying a new derailleur, has anyone tried the roadlink?

Thanks

I'm running 11-34 on a 105 derailleur without one.

Try it first, before spending on more kit.

I don’t have the GS derailleur (I have the SS). bike shop told me I needed this one and it’s cheaper to buy the roadlink if it’s any good.

Neither did I - I just presumed I needed to buy a new cassette and chain. Now have to spend another £50 on the GS or about £25 on the wolflink. I thought cycling was a cheaper sport !

I’ve got a 10speed Ultegra short cage derailleur and had an 11/25 cassette at the back and 53/39 chain rings.

This was a second hand bike and as I’m a casual cyclist I was struggling on the hills.

I had the rear cassette changed to an 11/32 and added a Wolfrace road tooth.

It works. I think the bike shop could have taken out a couple more links from the new chain I supplied or wound in the B screw a bit as the chain says a bit when in 11 -39 but not enough for the chain to come off.

If you look on the Wolfrace website they do provide lots of information on recommended combinations. I wish I had read it before I bought my tooth and cassette.

There’s an easy solution to the 39/11 chatter - try using 53/15 instead. Even without a Wolfrace, many bikes will struggle with the big/big and small/small extremes.

Edit - Changed "says" to "sags".
