Covid has been st.....but it's helped push YTD distances.

Just tipped over 30,000km for this year, almost 10,000 more than I've ever ridden.

Chose a stty day to get over the milestone though....

Amazing effort! Is that all outdoors or have you been on the turbo a lot too?!

I set a far more modest target of 3,650km which I'm just coming up on now - no commute hasn't helped!

That's not really real miles though, depends on gearing you use tongue out

(still awesome effort)

Slightly impressive! I'm hoping to crack 6,000km (total of turbo + road) before the end of the year - currently on 5646...

Amazing ! I feel like I spend every waking hour on the bike when I'm not working....... 12 months a year, in all weathers and at all times of the night........much to my family's disgust...... And I still only manage 8,000 miles a year............. Good effort there fella ! I have no idea how I'd manage any more than that 8,000 without being both divorced and retired laugh

Wow!

I can't fathom doing 12000km on a turbo - that must have been hard!

I am hoping to top 10,000Km (which is my usually yearly goal), I still 750Km to go...

Last time I managed it was 2017...

2018 I broke my collarbone
2019 I got I'll at the end of December and missed it by 150Km...

Very good. Does any particular ride stand out as most memorable (good / bad!)

30,000 km is a big number. Heck, even if you discount the 12,000 turbo kms, 18,000 km is still a big number. Kudos to you, OP.

VeloViewer tells me my "Projected Year End" mileage is 6,217 miles right now, but I'm not sure how I'm going to stuff 1,000 miles into the remaining 3½ weeks or so of 2020. VeloViewer seems far more optimistic than Strava, which says I'm "567 miles behind pace" to hit my 6,000 mile target mileage for the year.

Today's 100 miler puts me at...

Distance = 5,006.4 miles (or 8,057 km)
Time = 440h 30m
Elev Gain = 198,937 feet
Rides = 115

...for 2020 so far.

I can't fathom how I'd be able to double that though. I spend far too much time procrastinating about, and planning rides, and not enough time actually riding. I have the time to ride, I just don't use it effectively...

...and being slow doesn't help me to make best use of my time either! hehe

I’m assuming you are retired or have a very understanding boss. Impressive distance.

12k on a turbo isn't all in one go wink

Usually just five 70/80min sessions each week - Normally on it between 5.30 & 5.40 every morning before the house wakes up.

Alas, not many this year!! Covid limitations.

Climbing Rocacorba was probably the best.....a 150km trip to Wales to get a slice of cake was a close second.

But nice sunny warm weather from March to August provided plenty of good rides.

Good effort!

I'm up on distance this year and would have smashed my previous totals had I not also started running!

Well done, thats an impressive amount of time on the bike.

Guessing I'll hit my usual mileage of between 8k and 9k miles, although this year my average mph is lower with no racing, group training/chaingang and some mountain biking but on course for 500 ish hours for the year.
