Five Ten Trailcross Gore-Tex - is it happening?

Just back from a ride in the woods and trails behind Perth and Scone. Wearing my Freerider shoes, I came back home with soaked feet and very cold toes. When it comes to flat pedal compatible shoes, there aren’t many choices which give good waterproof protection and a good pedal grip sole. Five Ten showed a Gore-Tex version of their Trailcross shoe that was apparently going to be released in August time but, apparently, manufacturing issues presumably related to China, COVID-19 or both have delayed their release. Anybody know if the GTX version is going to ever appear and, if not, is there any real shoe/boot alternative without resorting to Sealskin socks or similar?
Freerider GTX (the 'waterproof' ones) and merino wool socks usually do the trick for me. Great for splashes and general winter riding.
Feet only really get wet if it's absolutely pissing it down, or I step in a deep puddle or bog.
I do like the look of the trailcross though, like that they look a bit more suitable for walking too, so would be interested also if anyone has some experience.

These are ok for splashes, but the tongue and material round the opening is still fabric and soaks up water really well. Also once they get a bit battered the coated leather stops being so good, even with a DWC refresh.
I guess it depends on how aggressively you are riding and on what.
I would love some Trail Cross Mid GoreTex, but after a recent very muddy ride, I hosed myself down to get the mud off, in 3 degrees, with Freerider DLX, sealskinz and GoreTex trousers and was totally dry.
The shoes were already waterlogged from riding, but my feet were super dry and toasty.
Any reason why the OP doesn't want to use Sealskinz? I was hesitant at first, now am a convert.
Admittedly, last time I used Sealskinz was about 6 years ago and they are fine but they are thick adding at least another half size to the shoe size. With my current pair of Five Ten shoes, I presumed no way they will accommodate a pair of Sealskinz because they are already a neat fit. Rather than buying a new, bigger size pair of shoes and the Sealskinzsocks I can kill two birds with one stone by buying a pair of waterproof shoes. I realise there is still a hole at the top of the shoe to let water wick into the foot via the sock but I was hoping the neoprene top on the mid boot will counteract a lot of these issues.
Everything is a compromise but thought the Trailcross GTX would be my best solution. Does everybody buy a half or full size larger to accommodate the Sealskinz?

I've got these five ten impact vista.
In my usual usual size with the old sealz and they are fine for fit.
They are a great shoe but still a compromise on some ways. When parts of them get wet that hold moisture you then get the increased heat loss effects.
A goretex lined version with a built in neoprene gaiter and fully weather proof closing doesn't appear to exist....for flats anyway. Northwave gtx look great if you clip in but hella pricey.

I took a look at the Sealskinz again today, decided I’m not going there (cost, additional thickness,) so I will just put up with wet feet and wait for the Trailcross GTX to be released. I have a pair of Shimano MW81 for my clip less pedals and they work a treat. Hopefully I will eventually have a similar result when the Trailcross hit the shops.
Not sure what the deal was with the Sealskinz that didn’t work, unless the water went in over the top, which happened to me. Combined with my GoreTex trousers I’m totally dry. If I’m in shorts and I know it’s going to be sloppy then I’ll go with knee length Sealskinz.

I’ve just started using Northwave Himalayas. The soles aren’t quite as grippy as my Adidas Terrex but they’re fine for most of my ridding and my feet stay warm and dry.
