Hatch bike rack: anything better than Thule 991?

Evening all
As title really - I want a rear mounted rack for max 2 bikes that is suitable for a VW Golf mk6 and is secure and easy to fit / use / remove.
The Thule Raceway 991 looks like a perfect fit (and a mate has one so I've seen it in use) but damn if it isn't bloody expensive!!
Does anyone have any recommendations based on ownership for similarly specced alternatives to the 991?
