Recommend a mountain bike

I want to get a mountain bike to get fit over the winter and for hacking around with my kids.

My budget is approx £500. Will consider used as well as new. What would you recommend?

I’ve just got a Calibre Two Cubed and it’s fantastic. Brand new from GoOutdoors I paid £382.50 which was a bargain imo. They’re usually £450 but the lad serving me gave me a 15% Scout’s discount as a gesture of goodwill as they messed up my order online....

Anyway, even at £450 for the spec it’s about as good as you can get for under £500 brand new with warranty etc. Well recommended!
