Just got a Vitus Nucleus 29 VR and need to get a rear mudguard.

I've narrowed it down to the Mudhugger or Topeak Defender XC11.

Is anyone using either and what is your experience?

TIA

It's my first modern MTB and I'm impressed so far. It's unbelievably stable on mud, rocks and tree roots however the wide tyres make it difficult to push on the road/fire roads.

Which size are you using? I've checked the MH website and the size is dictated by the seat stay angle - the Nucleus are 41 degrees and there isn't a listing for that angle

That's the one I ordered.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075GQRWN9/ref...

ETA1: due to the width of the seat stays, to accommodate larger tyres, I had to do a little work in order to get the guard to seat properly on the stays.

ETA2: I also used old inner tube wrapped around the stays to seat the guard against and protect the paint.
