Storing bikes vertically suggestions
Discussion
I’ve got those planet x hooks. I’ve alternated the bikes handle bars up/down so no need to rotate the bars.
I’ve made sure my carbon wheeled road bike has has the weight on the floor, but some of the others are hanging from the hook. Forces are pretty minimal compared to riding.

The most space efficient is to hang them from the axles, bars turned, with the front wheel off. I bought a load of large S-hooks on eBay so I could hang the front wheel off the stem in the gap between bikes. You can also turn the bikes at an angle to the wall so that they don't project as far into the garage.
I bought these:

If you have expensive wheels or aero wheels then mount them so the weight is on the rear wheel & the hook simply stops the bike falling back, I built my own rack that is spaced to take the bikes I want in the order I want & jobs a good un.

For maximum space I'd be mounting a fork mount onto the wall that directly mounts the bike through the axle. Something like this: https://www.blokpod.co.uk/product-category/bike-ac...
Saves even more space as it brings the bike closer to the wall with the front wheel being off and you could even mount it at an angle to prevent the need for having to spin your bars every time.

I'd like to be proven wrong here, but both me and a mate have had problems with suspension forks on MTB's stored like that. It could just be coincidence though...
Forks you shouldn't have a problem with unless your seals are already on their way out and leaking anyway. All storing them upside down does is mean the lower lube is sat by your seals and not the bottom of the lowers which isn't a problem. I think the only minor downside to storing bikes this way is that any air in your front brake will make its way to the caliper rather than the lever. That really isn't much of a biggie though and if it is you need your brakes bleeding anyway.
I'm hanging mine vertically on the wall in the opposite way - hooks under the handlebars and saddle touching the wall. Staggered heights reduces the space required and the handlebars don't have to be turned while stored. Works well, and for added security I'm locking the frame to the hook body. Also I can be lazy and often work on the wheels and brakes without taking the bike down from the hook so no need to get out the bike workstand...
Anyone stored an eBike vertically...does the circa 24Kg versus 10-12kg normally have any detrimental effect on suspension/frame/aircan?
I use these Topeak swivel holders. They cost me $20/pop but i have a compact garage, 5 kids, 2 bikes myself and a fearsome wife...that meant i had to suck up the cost of something that optimized space.

Don’t store a hydro, disc braked rig vertically. It won’t end well.
My god you write some absolute bks on this forumI have two hydro, disc braked road bikes which have been stored vertically since purchase and had zero issues with the brakes on either.
In true PH style, why spend £5 on a simple hook when you can spend much more? I've got 5 of the Classic Steadyrack and one Fender rack in my garage for storage. The pivoting feature is good as the bikes can be close together but you can easily make extra space to extract one. They also support via the tyre rather than the rim which could be a good thing if you've got expensive wheels.
