Hi, hoping someone has a bit more knowledge than me on this.

Just had a Elite Suito delivered. I have a Trek Checkpoint ALR4 with thru axle and sliding dropouts. I've attempted to fit the bike using the spacers but because of the sliding fixings in the bike, the QR shaft provided with the turbo isn't long enough.

My bikes axle fits and seems to work perfectly, the same as fixing the wheel other than the spacers are fitted to the turbo.

It all seems fine to me, just wondering if I'm doing something wrong and could damage something?

The alternative is to remove the adjusters for sliding dropouts but then I won't know that the turbo is setup square and it'll be a pain in the arse to put it back together for a real ride

Hope that all makes sense!

I think turbo trainer skewers are stronger to resist the extra load/bending they are put under. If you call the company's helpline they may have a stock of longer ones they can post out. Your regular one should work fine temporarily though!

Thanks for your reply. I've just emailed Elite, can't see a phone number but I'll have another look later.

I'm fairness the original axle is 12mm either end then tapers in the middle to around 10mm. It feels much much stronger than the provided skewer to me but there may be much more to it that I'm not aware of in fairness
